I Love cool evenings!
I Love HALLOWEEN!
Did I mention..
I LOVE OCTOBER!
AND
I LOVE the Guided Reading TABLE!
(MY HAPPY PLACE!)
I gave up my teacher desk years ago.
My guided reading table is our “base”.
It’s where we work, chat, cry, and
where we learn to
READ!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my guided reading table!
Sometimes…it’s CLEAN!
Sometimes it full of WONDERFUL student work!
And sometimes…it’s just plain MESSY!
But..
It’s where MAGIC HAPPENS!
In October, the magic starts.
Kids start to “get it”.
They understand the letter sounds.
They recognize some HFW, over & over again.
They can blend sounds to make words.
THEY WANT TO READ!
And so…we do!
We read charts, books, poems, our journals.
ANYTHING with words!
And we TRACK.
We are trying to use our eyes.
BUT OUR FINGER
SEEMS TO BE BETTER
FOR NOW!
So I have found some
OCTOBER
goodies
to help our fingers TRACK while reading.

And so…they TRACK!
