OK…so my LAST attempt
at PINTEREST baking
was…
OK.
NOT GREAT! But ALL was..OK.
(Here is my post on THAT project…)
So…I pulled up my BIG GIRL PANTIES…
and began again!
I have always LOVED my neighbor “grandma” who makes CANDY
and gives it to us for CHRISTMAS.
WELL….IF SHE CAN DO IT…I CAN DO IT!
Maybe?
(She has been cooking for 80+ years…and LOVES IT!)
( I was TAUGHT to cook when I was 8-10…40+ years ago…
BUT I DO NOT LOVE IT!)
I do it…I try..I don’t enjoy it!
TG…Hubby likes to cook…I like to clean..
we do well together!
Did I tell you the story of my first biscuits?
Young bride…cooking for new hubby…
made HOMEMADE biscuits.Pictures in cookbook were so nice!
MINE were as
HARD AS ROCKS!!! Actually, did throw one and it hit the fence with a thud!
As a young bride…I was DONE!
NEVER wanted to bake again!
And then I found biscuits in a CAN! POP! DONE!
No more ROCKS! 🙂
So…cooking & I have never been….GREAT.
We have been …good…but NOT GREAT!
So, here I go again!
PINTEREST! YOU KILL ME!
Everything is so…PERFECT!
I CAN DO THAT!
Just follow the recipe…read the directions…look at the pictures!
If you do…it will look exactly like it does on PINTEREST!
RIGHT?
I decided on
ENGLISH TOFFEE.
I LOVE Almond Roca!
My mommy LOVES it too.
Maybe I’ll make her some.
MAYBE?
Here is what I wanted:
Looks GREAT!
I am an educated, 50+ year old woman!
I can do this!
So here I go:

YES…I FOLLOWED THE DIRECTIONS
(to a TEE!)
Sprinkle chopped nuts on the BOTTOM!
Melt one POUND…YES!
One POUND OF BUTTER!
( No , I cannot taste…too many weight watcher points!) 🙂
Mix sugar, corn syrup, water into butter.
BOIL until light brown!
Spread sugar mix onto cookie sheet.
Sprinkle chocolate chips onto warm candy.
Spread chocolate.
Sprinkle with FINELY chopped nuts!
Freeze until hard.
Break into pieces!
Hubby tried them..
THUMBS UP!
So…Now I will bag them up and share with neighbors..
AND MY MOMMY!
I think this has been a PINTEREST SUCCESS!
YEAH!
Might try it again…Maybe… 🙂
*PS….
While I was making candy…hubby was cooking too…
He made homemade CHILI
( that he is going to can in jars with the Pressure Cooker!)
( Too much..PRESSURE :)…for me!)
AND….
Crock POT ribs!
YUMMY!
Will be ready for dinner!
As the clean up person…
I do ask that he uses
Crock POT liners..
Easy Clean UP!
Do YOU use them?
