Merry ” CUTENESS”!

I love it when
I think I have it ALL together…
and WHAM!
something happens to remind me…
YOU JUST HAVE TO GO WITH IT!
I teach at a Title 1 school
( for those of you who teach at Title 1…you know where I am going..)
Things are a little different in “our” world.
We had to have a LONG discussion about
our school’s
CANNED FOOD DRIVE.
NO…it does NOT mean we are collecting food
for YOU to take home.
It is for homeless families who have NO FOOD.
But, YOU have NO food??!!
OK…maybe we can SHARE!?
Life is a little “different” in our neck of the woods..
So we collect, we count, we stack, we restack.. and we share!
Life is good!
This week we made our BIG elves & candy cane ornaments.
( We teachers “think”we have it together..)
I got ALL of the pieces…candy canes, wiggle eyes, pom poms, etc
ready to make our reindeer.
I searched ALL over my city for red pom poms…ALL GONE!
OH NO! My kiddos will be so sad!
Only thing left was a bag of  “mixed colors”…
( NO red for RUDOLPH?????!!!!!) So sorry…
So we set out our pieces…
CLASS, I am sorry I don’t have red for the reindeer noses…
I WANT GREEN!  I WANT PINK!  I WANT PURPLE!
WHAT??????
You DON’T want RED???????
OK…Purple nose, purple antlers, & rainbow bow
“Patsy..the Purple Reindeer”
Who can argue with creativity?
They turned out SOOO cute!
ALL is well & one more week to go!
Enjoy our “cuteness”!

Merry Christmas from Westwood First Grade!

I love making reindeer crafts with my kinders. I have a hat, a craft stick ornament and a symmetry reindeer from a heart also in my bag. At art center, I like to set the materials out with samples and let the kinders pick what to make. I found they like to use all kinds of pom-poms for the noses and will paint the craft sticks pink for their ornament. You are right – they turn out so cute.
