OMG!
There are SOOOOO many wonderful things on PINTEREST!
I have THOUSANDS of pictures
of things
I want to make, create, cook, send to others, etc, etc, etc…
So this weekend…
I jumped in!
Now I must preface this…
I don’t cook much.
Hubby is the master chef
I clean. I clean well!
So….as an educated adult…I CAN FOLLOW A RECIPE!
Sort of.
Our family cookie exchange is coming up.
I thought it would be CUTE
to have a CENTERPIECE of lollipops
for ALL of the kids to take home.
SO…
Here is what I wanted to make
LOOK HOW CUTE THEY ARE!
OK.
I CAN DO THIS!
I went to my favorite
WALLY MART
and got my supplies!
Hubby wanted to know WHY I was buying
100 candy canes in November!
BECAUSE I CAN! 🙂
So here is my day…
Get out candy canes & sticks.
Lay on waxed paper.
MAKE SURE THE STICKS TOUCH THE CANDY CANES AT BOTH TOP & BOTTOM!
Need white candy melts for centers.
Well…my oven maybe a little warmer than 300 degrees.
MELTED QUICKLY!
A LITTLE large?
Hmmm…doesn’t quite look like the pinterest picture.
Hmmm.
So..use my fingers to “squish” the bottom & top
TO THE STICK!
OK..then
melt chocolate (microwave)
DO NOT BURN!
Go slow & stir often!
White chocolate SMEARED into the middle.
Yes, I dripped all over some.
YES, I used my FINGERS to get in
all the nooks & crannies!
And YES…my sprinkles look like a 5year old did them!
NOT EXACTLY like PINTEREST…
But I will bet
the 20 kiddos
who come to the family cookie exchange,
Won’t CARE!
PS…They haven’t SEEN PINTEREST!
Yes…I am putting them into a “CUTE” basket….with foam…surrounded by Candy KISSES!
It will look great!
AND NO ONE, will say a word!
If they do...
THEY GET TO HOST THE COOKIE EXCHANGE NEXT YEAR!
HA!
So…I love Pinterest…sort of
🙂
